RESULT U14s Tempo Maguires 5-17 v 1-4 Brookeborough

The U14s continued their recent run of good performances with another victory today away to Brookeborough. This sees them move top of section 2. The first quarter was an even affair with both teams trading scores. But Tempo got their heads in front through 2 goals from Niall Fee. Fortune favoured Tempo on both occasions as Fee struck 2 frees from the right wing 21yds out and both dropped in under the bar. This eased the pressure and points from Padraig mcCaffrey (who also knocked in a rebound goal) Michael mcPhillips, Conor Magee, Oisin Jackson and Peter Raffety, plus others seen a half time score of Brookeborough 1-4 v 3-10 Tempo.

However the second half seen total dominance from Tempo, as Brookeborough failed to get the score board ticking throughout the half. Goals in the second half included a rasper from 21yds from Jackson, and a tap in from 1 yd from mcPhillips. In defence for Tempo, Aidan Flanagan, Sean Corey, Conor Leonard, Brendan Cassidy and Ruairi Moore, blocked, tackled and swept up any ball that came their way. As usual Stephen Cassidy made a couple of saves and catches to keep the goals out. His kickouts were also excellent throughout the game. Peter Rafferty spent the 2nd half at full back as he was struggling with an injury and played very well. Fergus Fee took his place in midfield and put in a solid 30 mins.
