Club Notes 30.05.16

Not the happiest of weeks for the under 14 side who were to suffer two disappointments in championship fare.

In midweek they had their Feile final with visiting Belnaleck and in the short twenty minute contest they were to find themselves well curbed by the Belnaleck side who dominated the exchanges. Then on Saturday afternoon the team had their championship meeting with Irvinestown.

The opposition dictated the opening half and were to hold a big interval lead and in the end this proved too much a deficit for an improving Tempo to peg back. They did have a lot of attacking possession but found the Irvinestown back line just too well marshalled to penetrate.

The girls under 16 side are in their league final on Thursday evening when they tackle Enniskillen. Optimism here for the girls as they have a good record against the Gaels winning a league tussle earlier in the season though the Gaels did come out on top in a previous clash. Obviously two well matched sides and a key contest expected.

The slide of the senior team continues apace the latest setback being Sunday’s away reversal to Ederney. The team was to put in a sturdy opening half performance and were just a point in arrears at the resumption and for the next quarter they still stayed in the hunt .

But things then went badly awry, reduced to fourteen and the opposition capitalising on that to shoot two goals that had them well clear.

With the onset of the provincial championship campaign, Ballybofey on Sunday week, the games scheduled for the intervening period will be starred so again a testing fixture list ahead.

Lotto jackpot for the weekend of Saturday May 28th was not won the numbers drawn being 1 4 5 and 24. Winners of the two £25 prizes were Mary McBride, Enniskillen and Eamon Owens. Jackpot for next weekend stands at £3 200.

Team on duty for Saturdays June 4 and 11 is Declan McCaffery, Matthew Jackson, Conor McNally and Brendan McCusker.

There will be no session on Sunday June 12th due to the Fermanagh championship game in Ballybofey. There will be a Croke Park activity day on Monday August 15th further details on this later.
