Club Notes 26.06.17

The club offers our sincerest sympathies to the Campbell family on the loss of Teresa. Husband Damian, son Declan, daughters Kathryn, Edel, Eimear and Sorcha, granddaughters, grandson and the entire family circle are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.  Last weekend saw the Feile na nÓg come to Fermanagh and Tempo hosted the Davitt’s GAA club from County Mayo. The club enjoyed a wonderful weekend of socialising and football, our very young U14 Feile team playing games at home, in Ederney and in Corlough Co Cavan. This was a fantastic experience for our young players and the event generated a buzz around the club and a festival-feeling in the village. Our deepest thanks go to the many members and volunteers who helped out over the weekend in any capacity, but especially the Feile sub-committee; Stephen Jackson, Shane Breen, Aidy Bogue and Ann-Marie Kelly. Thanks also go to Marian and Michael Corry for coordinating hospitality; members who donated biscuits, buns and sandwiches, Tiarnan and Bláithín Bogue for their musical contribution, Paul Rafferty for his role as physiotherapist and the ever-reliable Tony Brennan for his duties as groundsman. Finally, the club would like to thank the many host families who generously opened their homes and gave our visitors VIP treatment throughout the weekend. The Davitt’s club commented that they were “overwhelmed by the hospitality [they] received, which was second to none” and said that they would “never forget their] time in Tempo for all of the best reasons.”

Training will recommence for all teams at all ages as usual this week after the brief hiatus for the Feile – team managers will be in contact with respective teams.

After a disappointing exit from the championship to Armagh we would like to offer our congratulations to clubman Aidan Breen on his performance and for his contribution to our county team this season.

The club offers its commiserations to Fermanagh U17 hurlers who narrowly missed all-Ireland glory by a single point in Garvaghy on Saturday – well done to young Maguire’s; Peter Rafferty, Oisin Jackson and Aidan Flanagan for representing their county at this level.

Bingo continues as usual on Thursday evening and tickets for our monster draw are on sale at £20 each from any committee member.

The Lotto Jackpot is still up for grabs after not being won last weekend – the drawn numbers were; 10, 11, 21 and 26 winners of the £25 were Gerard Fee and Declan Conlon. The Lotto jackpot stands at £5000 and the team for Saturday July 1st and 8th is Sean Breen, Rory McCaffrey, Declan McStravick and Niall McElroy.
