The Erne Cup side have seen their season completed by the defeat last weekend to Roslea in the reserve championship. Over the first half the team was to put in a highly promising display and they reached the interval holding a well merited lead but in the second half their challenge began to fade and Roslea, with Seamus Quigley in commanding form, gradually worked their way back.In the end it was to be a narrow defeat for the Maguires and in that scenario there was frustration that match winning chances had not been nailed down.
This coming weekend sees the senior side embark on their championship quest with a quarter final encounter with first division Kinawley.
The tie is fixed for Emmett Park, Lisnaskea on Saturday afternoon with a 4-30 pm throw in time.
Last meeting with Kinawley was in last autumn’s intermediate championship final where despite a tonic start with a couple of quick fire goals, Tempo eventually lost out.
A chance then to make amends for that and the team will be going into the tie in optimistic mood. They have just wrapped up a really solid league campaign finishing top of the second division ladder and it is expected that a full panel will be available for selection.
The club will be hosting the championship quarter final between Ederney and Roslea on Sunday 27th, this game has a throw in time of 6-30.
Lotto jackpot for last weekend was not won the numbers drawn being 1 13 14 and 28. Winners of the two £25 prizes were, Rachel and Aoibhinn Kildea and Conal and Ailbhne Breen. Jackpot for this coming weekend now stands at £5 800.
Team on duty for August 26th and September 2nd is Eamon Fee, Declan Connolly, Cait and Paul McCann.
