Club Notes 18.01.16

There has been a steady flow of return tickets for the national draw but around 50% of those distributed have still not been forthcoming. Those who have tickets outstanding are again asked to make every effort to sell the limited number asked of them, the incentive being that all monies go completely to club funds. A last deadline for return is fast approaching, so prompt return would be appreciated.

Those unable to complete their quota should return unsold tickets to a club officer so that they would be available for sale elsewhere.

Progress is imminent on the new pitch development scheme, preparatory work will hopefully be underway inside the next ten days or so with a mid Spring date pencilled in for commencement of major re surfacing.

Meanwhile the group in charge of the fund raising five year plan are now about to launch the scheme, an early February date decided on, to tie in with the first work on the project. It is understood that the target figure of contributors is nearing completion.

A small number of positions have still to be filled on the club executive, chief of these being the post of club treasurer and the executive are actively pursuing this. Also unfilled are the posts of senior men and ladies team manager for 2016 and this too is at the top of the executive agenda.

Adrian Bogue will again be the Youth Officer for the coming year with Sean Breen taking on the Membership Officer role.

The Lotto jackpot for Saturday January 16th was not won the numbers drawn being 1 4 7 and 19. Winners of the two £25 prizes were Thomas Baxter and Ignatius Meehan. The jackpot for this coming Saturday January 23rd stands at £6 800. The team on duty is Adrian Bogue, Leo Monaghan, Ciaran Campbell and Ryan Bogue. The team on duty for Saturdays January 30 and February 6 is Teresa McNabb, Thomas Dunne, Eunan McCann and Adrian Green.

The weekly Games Sesssion in the Community Centre was called off last Thursday owing to inclement weather conditions. The sessions will resume this coming Thursday and since there is a tiny operating margin club members are asked to give the games their support, at least on a sporadic basis.

A number of club members will be attending Monday’s night’s important county meeting organised by CCC which will be dealing with proposals on the organisation of the leagues for 2016 prior to decision taking at the February Co Board.
