Difficult days for the club’s adult teams as both continue to struggle in their respective leagues, the two sides suffering weekend reversals.
First up was the Erne Cup side which travelled to Teemore on Saturday evening and despite the fact that they put in an enterprising opening half effort they were to be undone over the second half.
The team had reached the break leading by a couple of points and this generated the belief that they could build on their fine performance seven days earlier against a strong Derrygonnelly side where they had been denied a win by a late equalising Harps point.
But Teemore were to step up a pace on the changeover and a couple of goals had them in control and they scored a solid victory.
On Sunday the senior side had another home tie, Ederney the visiting opposition on this occasion but they were to slip to a second sucessive defeat.
A five points interval deficit left the Maguires on the back foot and though they were to put in a sturdy second half showing they were never to really suggest that they would be capable of pegging back the gap.
Two games for the senior side this weekend beginning with a Friday evening home game against Erne Gaels and on Sunday they make the trip over to Garrison to take on Devenish.
It was a busy weekend for the Feile squad as they had competition on both Saturday and Sunday, beginning with a blitz event against Newtownbutler, Derrylin and Teemore. One game won, two lost and that sent them on Sunday to the Shield competition in Aughdrumsee were they lost out to Belcoo.
Players who played consistently well over the schedule of games included Rhys O’Hara, Alex Murphy and Sean Fee
The under 15 side have their next league game this Thursday when entertain Roslea at home, throw in timed for 7-00.
The senior ladies team lost out to Derrygonnelly, a last minute goal the killer blow for them.
