Club Notes 12.06.17

Focus of attention for the weekend of June 23-25 will be on the national Feile na nÓg competition which is being co- hosted by Fermanagh, Monaghan and Cavan.
Our club will be hosting a club from Mayo and preparations for that have been ongoing for many weeks, arranging accommodation, fixtures etc.

The programme will include a game with our visitors.

Volunteers are asked to come along to the club grounds this Saturday at 9-30 to assist in a general clean up of the property in preparation for the much anticipated weekend.

On the senior front the winning run of the side continued with a good victory on Friday evening against visiting Aughdrumsee. Once the side got into its stride they never looked like being overhauled and they were comfortable from the interval onwards.

Eight wins from nine outings the record so far and obviously the team, provided there is no catastrophic collapse, is on the way to promotion at the first time of asking.

There will be a break in the games sequence for a short period, Fermanagh’s Qualifier game with Armagh on Sunday week plus the hosting of the Feile the reasons for that.

There was to be a welcome victory for the Erne Cup side which produced a terrific second half performance to score a one point away win over St Patricks. The team had looked in dire trouble at the break, ten points in arrears but a personnel reshuffle engineered a splendid revival.

The minor team had a walk over in their scheduled league tie and they are on track to qualify for their divisional final which hopefully will be played the week after next.

Next underage competition will be the juvenile league and this will get underway in early July.

Lotto jackpot for last weekend was not won the numbers drawn being, 8 11 14 and 22. Winners of the two £25 prizes were Cahir Breen and Brian Jackson. Jackpot for this weekend now stands at £4 800.

Team on duty for Saturdays June 17th and 24th is Damian Breen, Conor King and Eamon Cassidy.

The fund raising draw was launched last week, top prize being £10 000, tickets priced at £20 or three for £40. The club is looking for a commitment from members to volunteer their services in selling tickets and contact in this regard should be made with Marian Corry, Tel 89541782.
