Club Notes 10.07.17

The minor side have made it through to the championship semi final thanks to another strong performance which saw them comfortably account for Erne Gaels, the fixture played at Belcoo.Once more this was an encouraging team display from the side as they generally dictated exchanges from the outset and they had the look of winners from an early stage, two goals in each half establishing them in a commanding position.

Semi final opponents are Belcoo and at the time of going to print there is some uncertainty about the timing of the game, hopefully there will be a satisfactory agreement reached.

Relegation is very much on the cards for the Erne Cup side as their losing streak continued on Friday evening when they lost out heavily to visiting Lisnaskea.

From the outset they found it difficult to contain a sharp Emmett’s attack and though they did manage to shoot a couple of goals in reply at the finish they were well adrift.

At senior level the club had an away fixture on Sunday against St Patricks. Lotto jackpot for last Saturday was not won the numbers drawn being 6 9 15 and 19. Winners of the two £25 prizes were Violet Moan and Eoin Breen. Jackpot for the coming weekend now stands at £5 200 and the team on duty for Saturdays July 15th and 22nd is Stephen Jackson, Ryan Breen and Tiarnan Bogue.

Winner of the summer draw (£500) in the Club Tempo five year fund raiser scheme was Damian Campbell.

Next underage competition to get underway is the juvenile league and the team will be operating in what looks to be a testing Section A.

The July programme for the side is; 13th away to Kinawley, 20th home to Irvinestown and 27th away to Enniskillen. August game will be against Derrygonnelly, Lisnaskea and Teemore.

The weekly Games Sesssion continues on Thursday evening in the Community Centre, first game at 9-00 pm and admission is £10, £15 for double. Again club members are encouraged to give support to the venture which should be a source of revenue but which has become something of a millstone and its future hangs in the balance.

The ladies team will embark on their championship campaign with a tie against Kinawley.
