The senior team will have Ederney as the opposition in the championship relegation game which is scheduled for the weekend after next. Ederney were well beaten by Derrygonnelly in their quarter final replay and will be disappointed by their limp performance but that will presumably have no impact on how they approach this upcoming contest. They, like ourselves, will be exceptionally keen to avoid having to head into a last ditch relegation battle in a make or break final match. Just a hard struggle in prospect against a team who have always proved to be exceptionally tough opponents. The juvenile side had a dress rehearsal of their Wednesday evening championship meeting with Belcoo when they travelled to the same opposition on Sunday morning for a league tie.

This proved to be an exceptionally high scoring affair, Tempo hitting two first half goals from Caolan Corey and Barra McStravick to lead by five points at the interval. They were to shoot a hat trick of goals in the second half, Lorcan McStravick, Eoin McCaffery and Michael Mc Phillips all finding the net. Yet despite this tide of goals the team was to finish in arrears, Belcoo scoring a five points success. On Wednesday hopefully there will be a more tightfisted Tempo defensive performance.

The Lotto jackpot for the weekend of Saturday September 5th was not won the numbers drawn being 14 19 23 and 25. Winners of the two £25 prizes were Kevin King and Ignatius Meehan. The jackpot for this coming weekend stands at £4 900. The team on duty for Saturdays September 12 and 19 is Shane Breen, Cait McCann, Barry McCusker and Conor Meehan.

Club officials are continuing the drive to secure patrons for the second pitch development fund.

The vast bulk of the fund will be by direct debit, £20 per month and the scheme will have a four year life span. There will be a quarterly draw, prize here being £500 and this will be doubled to £1 000 on the occasion of the AGM.

Those members interested in purchasing tickets for the All Ireland football final should give their names to the club secretary no later than Saturday 19th.

The club will be hosting a double bill of the intermediate championship semi finals on Sunday September 20th games scheduled for 5-00 and 7-00. In order to have an efficient and effective organisation for what will be a well attended match programme, members are asked to come to the club pavilion no later than 3-00 on Sunday afternoon.
