Club Notes 07.08.17

The senior side have chalked up quite a number of huge victories this season and on Friday evening they recorded another as they comprehensively outscored visiting Coa.But it had not been a runaway matter for over the opening half Coa had delivered a feisty enough display and with a particularly lively finishing spurt to the half they were to reach the break just a single point in arrears.

A tight second half looked in prospect but in fact it was to be more or less one way traffic as Coa disappeared and Tempo strolled to the most emphatic of wins.

Final league game is an away meeting with Belnaleck and after that the championship tussle with Kinawley looms on the horizon.

The other side of the sporting coin is being experienced by the under 16 side as they continue to find themselves struggling in Section A of their league.

They had a potent Derrygonnelly side as visitors on Thursday evening and could only put up limited resistance to the Harps.

They were ten adrift at the turnover and didn’t really look capable of making any significant inroads into that deficit and in a limp finish they conceded a hat trick of goals. A little unlucky to be so far adrift at the finish but Derrygonnelly were the physically stronger side in several sectors of the park.

Much better for the under 12 side who have been delivering very promising performances in their league campaign. Two more wins registered for them over the past ten days with comfortable successes over Belnaleck and Aughdrumsee.

They look to be well on track for qualification for their league final.
