Details for Derrygonnelly Blitz

The Derrygonnelly U10 blitz takes place this Saturday, 18th June, in Derrygonnelly, and will be followed by the final of the U10  Derrygonnelly tournament at 1.15pm between Tempo and Kinawley.

U10 players (P6s) involved in the final, , if not already there to watch the morning blitz, should be in Derrygonnelly for 12.15pm.

For the younger players taking part in the blitz, these should meet in Tempo at 9.15am. The blitz starts at 10.30am and will end around 1pm.

All players, don’t forget gumshield, drink, snack if required etc. There will be burgers or hotdogs when the blitz finishes.

U10s reach final

Congratulations to Aidy Bogue and Declan Breen on leading the  Tempo U10.5  (P6) team to the final of the Derrygonnelly tournament. This will be the first Tempo team to ever reach the final itself. The ‘a’ team will not be participating in the blitz on Saturday, but instead will play the final in Derrygonnelly on Saturday at 1.15pm, Kinawley being the opponents.

The P5 (‘b’ team) team will compete in the tournament  blitz on Saturday morning. More information to follow on details for both.

The team came through a well contested playoff with Belcoo on Saturday evening last. Final score read Tempo 0-14, Belcoo 1-11 (rules for this competition are that a goal is worth 1 point and over the bar is worth 2 points to encourage the skill of kicking for points, so this score reads Tempo 28 Belcoo 23). Tempo pulled into a strong lead in the 2nd quarter of the game and went in with a good half time lead that they never really looked like surrendering. Although Belcoo came strong over the last 10 minutes of the game, the Tempo defence held strong with Cathal in goals and where the two Michaels, Seamus and Ben starred. Further up the team was well served by Ciaron and Eoin at midfield, with Philip, Shane, Daire and Laura putting the Belcoo defence under a lot of pressure. A clash of heads between AJ and Ella early on left both players taken off for precautionary reasons.
