Ladies U16 final result – Tempo 0-13 Enniskillen 5-7

Goals win matches and this certainly was the case last night in the Ladies Division 3 U16 final at a sunny and perfect pitch in Ederney. Over the course of the 60 minutes, Tempo tried to find a way through a heavily guarded Enniskillen rearguard, only to be stopped by some last gasp defending and good goalkeeping by the gaels. At the other end, Enniskillen were able to find the net at vital times during the game.

A goal in the first minute for Enniskillen left Tempo always chasing the game, but this young team battled hard and matched Enniskillen stride for stride in the first half, the interval score 2-4 to 08, only two points the margin.

And it was still very close midway through the 2nd half, until Enniskillen grabbed two more goals in quick succession to put the game out of Tempos reach.

Although 9 points the difference in the end, this was a much closer contest between two evenly matched teams. The young Maguires, most of who are still under 14, can hold their heads high. Some great team play and powerful individual displays were on show.

Congratulations to Enniskillen winning the final and to both teams on an entertaining match.
